Books I Love

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always loved to read. I remember as a teenager, sitting in the corner of my bedroom, consuming myself with the latest Nancy Drew File ( I actually got into trouble at times for spending too much money on books!) or being taken back in time with books like M.M. Kaye’s Shadow of the Moon (still one my favorite books to this day!)

About a year ago, I decided to form a book club with a group of friends (we always found ourselves talking about the books that we were reading so it made perfect sense!). We’ve read some good ones and some well — eh mediocre.

Here are some of my favorite books so far.

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

A few months ago my mother recommended The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah (it also happens to be our November Book!).

The story revolves around two sisters living in German-occupied France during World War II.   Inspired by real-life stories of women of women who risked their lives (and for many paid with the ultimate sacrifice) to save Jewish children and Allied airmen during this turbulent time, but their stories never shared.   Reading this book, I found myself on an emotional roller coaster. I agree with the critics that this is far one of the best books I have read.
