I always get asked the question, “Do you cook?” It’s after the question, “Why aren’t you married?” Many people find it surprising when I say that I do. The truth of the matter is just because one is single doesn’t mean that they don’t know how to cook. It’s actually the opposite! Last weekend, I decided to create a delicious meal just for myself– a lightly marinated sirloin steak with French green beans and a bake potato.
I love steak, but I had never prepared one. So, I did some research and came across a blog post by Jessie Cross (thehungrymouse) on preparing steak on the stove.
I marinated the steak with salt, black pepper and Worcestershire sauce for a few hours and placed it in the refrigerator. I pulled the steak out of the fridge about 30 minutes before preparing it. Once the steak was at room temperature, I followed Jessie’s directions in her blog post titled, Steakhouse-Style Pan-Roasted Sirloin Steaks. The result:

I must say it was divine! The first piece melted in my mouth. It was just as delicious as one I would have enjoyed at a restaurant. A perfect Sunday dinner for a single gal!
